JUST A THOUGHT
with jalyn webb

Welcome to the season of passion!

What a great time for checking in and turning on your creativity. And speaking of creative websites, my favorite hot spot right now is a fantastic website called www.etsy.com. Etsy is a place for all things handmade… kind of like an 'ebay' for all handmade products. Be sure to check out the fresh handmade soap called mango de methe, a great herbal base with mango, peppermint and jojoba...so good you want to take a lick -- and it smells gorgeous!

Another great gift idea would be the Jesse B collection of bottle bags, handmade fabric bags to dress up a bottle of wine or champagne, in style. What a great hostess gift!!

Also check out the Olivine Crystal Ring… European inspired and made from gorgeous swarovski beads..a must have for spring!!

February is all about the heart, and not just the romantic side. The month of love is also the time to check in and take care of our hearts too. Cardiovascular disease is women's No. 1 killer and heart disease claims more women's lives than the next seven causes of death combined! Help yourself and your loved ones by logging onto www.AmericanHeart.org to join the Go Red For Women movement. Go Red gives women the power to significantly reduce their risks of heart disease and live a long, healthy life. Also, when you shop Go Red, some of the proceeds benefit the American Heart Association. So shop well, live well and put your hand over your heart to make a promise to be heart healthy!

Some of our Favorite Shops Sponsoring Go Red...

Brighton Collectibles

For the 2nd year in a row, Brighton has created an exclusive piece for Go RED where $10 from every necklace goes to the American Heart Association. This incredible necklace has Swarovski red crystals in the center and also the Go red dress on the back clasp.  www.brighton.com.

Swarovski

Swarovski North America presents its fourth very successful "Power of Love" Valentine's Day promotion in support of the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement. The 2006 Swarovski Power of Love Collection is a sparkling assortment of items designed specifically for Valentine's Day gift-giving. You could win a Swarovski Heart Ornament 2006 (USD 65.00 value) and a copy of "Woman Are Not Small Men" by Nieca Goldberg, MD (Who just happened to be in our Dec/Jan issue of AmaZe!) www.swarovski.com

American Heart Association

Visit www.americanheart.org and click on Go Red Shopping to pull up a list of items that benefit the AHA. My personal faves are the Swarovski red dress pin, and also the darling black and red t-shirt (comes up to 2x).

Tea Party Time

Celestial Seasonings is also joining in the fight to raise awareness and research dollars for Women's Heart Disease issues. They have created two new teas, both made with black tea and other all-natural, heart-healthy ingredients.

Try Black Cherry Pomegranate -- Ruby-red pomegranates and tangy hibiscus liven up our black tea, while black cherries and rooibos add sweetness.

Vanilla Rose Decaf -- Creamy vanilla and fragrant rose add a touch of romance to naturally decaffeinated black tea, caffeine-free rooibos, and tangy hibiscus.

The packaging for these teas features a Red Dress-the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness and provides educational information about women's risk of heart disease.

And last but not least...

If you find yourself in the Tuscon area, the must shop place of the day is a fab new boutique called, “The Well Rounded Woman” located in the Plaza Palomino at Swan and Fort Lowell Roads. The clothing ranges from size 12 to 26 and they are clever, trendy and original according to the owner, Jennifer Utken. She carries lines like Liz and Jane, Flax, Vikki Vi and other trendy designers..asd well as a darling line of tin art from the Diva Collection.

For info, check them out at 520-795-2004.

Continue to thrive with passion, and support some great causes
while also getting a shopping fix! What could be better!
