amaze magazine :: winter 2005

“Crimson Blaze” sounds like the coolest female action hero you’ve never met – it’s also the name of the collection that Maybelline created for Holiday 2005.  The colors are lush, warm, and Asian-inspired…think gold, red, etc.  The Moisture Extreme lipsticks live up to their names – positively rich and juicy on the lip.  Try Real Raisin for a deep, sensual red, or Red Dawn if you want some sheer red-gold shimmer.  I was a little wary of the Dream Mousse Blush, but I found it easy to apply with my fingers and light on my face.  Moisture Extreme is $7.00, Dream Mousse is $7.50, and they can be found all over the place. Mess Makeup sunless tanner

The mind’s behind Mess Makeup say that if there’s one product that will perk up your look this winter, it’s their Sunless Tanner.  It comes from an aerosol tan and provides a gentle, natural looking glow within minutes (those minutes can last up to 5-7 days, so be prepared).  The last time my skin actually had contact with the sun was in the mid-70s, so for people like me looking for a boost, this is a great product that won’t streak or get all over your hands.  One shade suits all. has it for $29.95.

When you think of Pamela Anderson’s most famous feature, you naturally picture her…lips.  Pam’s endorsing a product called Instant Lip Solution from The Simon Solution, created especially for Pam so she could get a plump looking lip without medical injections.

First you apply Firming Line Smoother around the outside of your mouth to fill in fine lines.  Then you dab Lip Enhancement Gel directly on the lips.  You definitely feel a tingle.  And then…well I’ll be….did my lips instantly plump up?  Uh, yeah, they did.  When I kiss a guy, will his plump up too?  That is yet to be determined.  One set is $19.99 at
