(The Monif C. Launch Party)

Monif C Fashion Show
A View From Wendy Beth Cohen

What a way to end a plus-size packed fashion week! Held at the mid town NYC venue, Show, Monif C. showcased sumptuous and sexy ensembles with the the care and precision of someone who knew exactly how to flatter curves. It was clear Monif C. knew exactly what we were all craving and what is still missing in the plus-size market-place.

With the high energy music exciting the hundreds of people eagerly awaiting the show,The Glamazon girls started electryifying the crowd with their positive self-image cheers. Dressed in black corsets and satin-boy shirts that you might be use to seeing in the privacy of your own bedroom they embraced their curves and made us love ours more.

Monif has done what many of us complain about and secretly want to do. She found a way, with the help of her family and sponsors, to provide for herself and her curvy friends world wide a way to bring chic, flattering clothes that we all crave from our less curvy friends.

Included in the crowd were such celebrities as Rosario’s Dawson’s gracious mother, Isabelle.

Like many of the straight sized fashion shows of the week, Monif C. shared something with them. Her show was brand-sponsored by a high quality, reputable company, SPANX. While this might seem commonplace for most fashion shows, it's probably one of the first times a sponsor is backing this consumer.

AmaZe would like to acknowledge all of the companies that helped to sponsor the fashion week events. It is through your support that the plus-size industry continues to thrive.
